Where can I ask a roofing question?

A roofing discussion room for homeowners and tradespeople — new/low-karma accounts face spam filters, and brand names are banned from titles.

Roof leaks and re-roof decisions need trade-aware eyes. r/Roofing welcomes questions and photos from homeowners and roofers, but fights spam hard: brand/company names out of titles, no self-promo, and new accounts often cannot post.

Where to ask

r/Roofing

Best for: Roof condition, repair and replacement questions with photos — without turning the title into an ad.

Why it fits: Its public description: “Greetings! This sub is for questions, interesting pics or videos and stories about roofing. We welcome roofers, handy-people, homeowners and anyone else who is roof-curious. READ THE RULES BEFORE POSTING.”

Rules to know before posting:

  • **Due to a constant deluge of spam**, you must be a regular reddit user and have good karma in order to post to this sub. **If you cannot get past the spam filter, up your reputation and try again - or have a friend…
  • **Do not make submissions or comments that are self-promotion of any kind (ie: promotion of your product, your company, your software, your service - or your employer's) - even if it might otherwise be considered…
  • No brand names or company names in submission titles

Before you post

  • Describe climate, roof age and symptoms; photos of the problem area beat a brand-name title.
  • Peer replies are not a structural engineer’s report — hire local licensed help for safety-critical work.
  • If the spam filter blocks a brand-new account, participate elsewhere first or use modmail as their rules describe.
