Where can I ask for guitar learning help?

A guitar-learning community for lessons and playing questions — gear talk goes in a megathread, and playing feedback is limited to Feedback Fridays.

Beginners and returning players looking for technique help often want a learning-focused room rather than a general gear gallery. r/guitarlessons is dedicated to learning guitar: lessons, questions and scheduled feedback. Gear shopping and most performance clips have separate homes.

Where to ask

r/guitarlessons

Best for: Questions about learning and playing guitar, plus Feedback Friday playing critiques.

Why it fits: Its public description: “A subreddit dedicated to learning guitar. Post lessons, ask questions, and get feedback on your playing on Feedback Fridays.”

Rules to know before posting:

  • No advertising or submissions whose main purpose is to get money.
  • No performances except on Feedback Fridays; no backing-track or tab-request dumps as the main post type.
  • Gear questions belong in the megathread — standalone gear posts are removed.
  • Feedback requests are only allowed on Fridays (US-based timing with a little flexibility).
  • Lessons must actually teach; flair posts; don’t mock legitimate questions; don’t spam your own videos.
  • Posts must be lessons, playing questions or Feedback Friday requests; be respectful.

Read r/guitarlessons’s current rules on Reddit

Before you post

  • Say your experience level, acoustic vs electric and the exact technique stuck point.
  • Buying a first amp or guitar belongs in the gear megathread, not a new top-level post.
  • Broader guitar discussion also exists in larger guitar communities — still read flair and anti-spam rules first.
