Where can I identify a fossil?

A fossil-ID community that wants a few clear images — distinct from general rock and mineral identification.

Fossils and pretty rocks are different asks. r/fossilid is for “found a fossil?” posts with multiple photos. Mineral-only curiosities fit the rock-identification where-to-post page instead.

Where to ask

r/fossilid

Best for: Identifying a suspected fossil from several clear photos.

Why it fits: Its public description: “Found a fossil? Submit a post here containing a few images, and we'll figure out what it is!”
