Where can I ask a Blender 3D question?

A Blender community for modeling, animation and rendering discussion — images must be Blender-made, photoreal claims need evidence, and tutorial-donut posts are steered elsewhere.

Blender modeling, materials and render troubleshooting questions belong in Blender communities rather than generic art feedback rooms. r/blender centers on Blender itself. It is not a place to upload non-Blender images asking how to recreate them as the main post image.

Where to ask

r/blender

Best for: Questions and work discussion about Blender modeling, animation and rendering.

Why it fits: Its public description: “Blender is a free and open-source software for 3D modeling, animation, rendering and more.”

Rules to know before posting:

  • Images in posts must be created in Blender — if you need a reference image for a question, link it rather than making it the post image.
  • Be civil — don’t insult people or their art.
  • Photorealistic-looking posts need wireframe/viewport/clay evidence.
  • No deception (photo claimed as a render) and no disguised ads for paid products.
  • No memes — use Blender meme communities instead.
  • No tutorial recreation pieces (especially donuts) — use the dedicated donut community instead.

Before you post

  • Include Blender version, render engine and what you already tried — screenshots of nodes/settings help.
  • General drawing feedback still fits the drawing-feedback where-to-post page.
  • 3D printing slicer failures fit the 3D-printing where-to-post page, not Blender art help.
