Where can I ask a swimming pool maintenance question?

A pool-owner discussion room for maintenance questions — no business shilling, and “just ask elsewhere” brush-offs are discouraged.

Pool chemistry and equipment questions have their own peer rooms. r/pools is used for owner maintenance talk; keep vendor ads out and give water-test numbers when you have them.

Where to ask

r/pools

Best for: Residential pool chemistry, equipment and maintenance troubleshooting.

Why it fits: A public pool-owner discussion community (title: pools) focused on peer maintenance questions rather than vendor storefronts.

Rules to know before posting:

  • Please do not promote or link your own business or products. This includes personal blogs. We're all just redditors here.
  • Please avoid simply telling redditors to ask for advice elsewhere unless such is a part of a greater attempt to provide a solution.

Before you post

  • Share test readings (FC, pH, TA, CYA, salt if applicable), pool volume and filter type.
  • Do not use the thread to promote your pool company or blog.
  • Electrical or gas heater work may also need licensed trades — see electrician/HVAC pages when relevant.
