This policy explains what personal data SubMouse (submouse.com) processes and why. We keep it to the minimum needed to run the website.
1. Server logs
Like every website, our web server records technical data for each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user-agent. We use these logs to keep the site secure, to fix errors and to count visits and clicks between this site and partner websites. Logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or anonymised. They are not sold or shared for advertising.
2. Contact form
When you use the contact form we store your name, email address, subject, message, IP address and browser user-agent so that we can answer you and protect the form against abuse. We keep messages as long as needed to handle your request and delete them afterwards, at the latest after 24 months.
3. Cookies and tracking
We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) to understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address and device information on our behalf; see Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. We don’t use advertising pixels or other third-party trackers. Some sections of the website may also use a small first-party cookie, for example to remember your position in a gallery or to count clicks. See our Cookie Notice.
4. Third-party content
Subreddit icons are stored on our own server, so visiting our pages does not load images from Reddit. Links to reddit.com take you to Reddit’s website, where Reddit’s own privacy policy applies.
5. Legal basis and your rights
We process data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website and, for the contact form, to answer your request. Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, you may ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, object to processing or complain to a data-protection authority. Send requests through the contact form.
6. Children
SubMouse is a general-audience directory and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
