Where can I identify a coin?

Collector rooms for coin identification and learning — with limits on error/variety questions and no buying or selling in-thread.

Coin collectors maintain identification and learning communities. Read the pinned how-to posts first: low-effort “what’s this worth?” photos without research are often removed, and error/variety IDs may belong elsewhere.

  • Be civil; personal insults and bigotry are not allowed.

Before you post

  • Photograph both sides in natural light and include diameter or a scale if you can.
  • Paper money belongs in paper-money communities, not coin rooms.
  • Stamp identification is a different hobby — use the philately community for stamps.
