Where can I ask a plumbing question?

A plumbing advice community for diagnosis help — photos strongly preferred, no price-shopping quotes, and chemical drain-cleaner cheerleading is unwelcome.

Leaks, clogged drains and fixture questions are common homeowner asks that need plumbing-specific eyes. r/Plumbing is for plumbing advice and help. It is not a place to crowdsource competing dollar quotes.

Where to ask

r/Plumbing

Best for: Home plumbing diagnosis and advice questions with photos when possible.

Why it fits: Its public description: “A place for plumbing advice and help. Do not advertise or try to compare pricing.”

Rules to know before posting:

  • No advertising or YouTube promo links/comments.
  • No spam, meme or humor posts — this is an advice room.
  • No quote requests or “is this price fair?” second opinions — get local quotes instead.
  • Post pictures of the fixtures and piping when asking for help.
  • Chemical drain cleaners are discouraged; do not expect cheerleading for them.
  • Treat advice as informal — verified pros have flair and tend to be more reliable, but you still research before acting.
  • Do not delete your post or comments after getting an answer — deletions can bring bans.
