Where can I ask for crochet help?

A dedicated crochet-help sister community for technique questions — with detailed titles, “what I tried,” and copyright limits on patterns.

r/CrochetHelp is the question room paired with the main crochet community. Ask concrete technique questions there; finished-object showcases stay on the main crochet subreddit unless the help is about that piece.

Where to ask

r/CrochetHelp

Best for: Stitch counting, pattern interpretation, shaping problems and other crochet technique questions.

Why it fits: Its public description: “The little sister to r/crochet & the place to get all the crochet help you need!” and it asks members to try the wiki before posting.

Rules to know before posting:

  • Be kind and courteous — no harassment or insults.
  • Crochet help only; no FO or WIP posts unless the help is about that piece.
  • Titles must be detailed enough that the question is clear without opening the post.
  • Say what you already tried in the automoderator prompt.
  • No selling or business-startup advice.
  • Do not share full copyrighted patterns — link or show only a small stuck section.
  • No self-promotion, fundraising or yarn solicitation.

Before you post

  • Photo the problematic rows with a stitch marker in frame when counting is the issue.
  • Finished projects without a question belong in r/crochet, not the help room.
  • For knitting-specific charts and techniques, use the knitting-help page instead.
