Where can I ask what breed my dog is?

A dog-breed guessing community for photos — mark solved threads, and keep breed-politics spam out.

Visual breed guesses are informal. r/IDMyDog exists for posting photos and collecting breed guesses. DNA tests and shelter records still beat crowd guesses when the answer matters for health or housing rules.

Why it fits: Its public description: “Post pictures of your dog, and we'll try to determine its breed.”

Rules to know before posting:

  • If your dog's breed has been solved or probably solved, then mark your post with the appropriate flair.
  • This isn't a subreddit to spam anti-pit bull grievances. We will ban users brigading or harassing the subreddit or users to spam off-topic issues.

Before you post

  • Clear full-body photos from a few angles help more than a single face close-up.
  • Mark the post solved or probably-solved when the thread lands, as the room asks.
  • Medical or behavior problems belong on the pet-health or dog-training where-to-post pages, not a breed-guess thread.
