Where can I ask a running question?

A large running community for training and race discussion aimed at a broad audience — with a hard ban on soliciting medical advice.

Training-plan, race-prep and running-habit questions often go to r/running. The room wants posts that help a broad audience, not narrow medical diagnosis threads. Injury and medical questions are explicitly out of scope.

Where to ask

r/running

Best for: Training, racing and running-practice questions that other runners can discuss usefully.

Why it fits: Its public description: “All runners welcome.” Combined with rules that require informative, running-related posts for a broad audience.

Rules to know before posting:

  • Follow Reddiquette and posting procedures, including flair and daily/weekly threads when required.
  • Posts must be informative for a broad audience — low-quality or chronically repetitive posts may be removed.
  • No self-promotion, advertising, spam or surveys.
  • No elite race results splashy titles; make titles descriptive.
  • Do not share other people’s personal information.
  • Do not solicit medical advice (including “has anyone else had this injury?” diagnosis threads); keep posts running-related; avoid TMI bodily-function posts; article links need a discussion starter.

Before you post

  • Include weekly mileage, goal race and what you already tried in training.
  • Pain, injury diagnosis and medical treatment questions belong with a clinician and the medical where-to-post page — not here.
  • Simple beginner plan asks often fit weekly threads better than a brand-new low-detail post.
