Where can I ask for decluttering advice?

A decluttering community focused on reducing stuff — organizing-only posts, selling questions and self-promo are poor fits.

Decluttering is not the same as buying more organizers. r/declutter wants reduction-focused discussion and challenges, and it deletes selling questions and marketing.

Where to ask

r/declutter

Best for: Advice and accountability for reducing household clutter (not pure organizing hauls).

Why it fits: Its public description: “Reducing clutter by reducing stuff: discussion, advice, weekly and monthly challenges. No selling, surveys, or self-promo.”

Rules to know before posting:

  • Organizing without decluttering, general self-improvement, and detailed tech comparisons are not a good fit here.
  • No snark, rudeness, or politics. No racism, sexism, or ageism. No crusading against individual organizations.
  • This is not a selling sub. For selling advice, the Selling Guide is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/declutter/wiki/index/selling/
  • No marketing of your own services, book, app, affiliate links, or similar, in any form. No surveys. Also, do not post asking other members to buy, sell, or give you items.
  • If posting or commenting, make an effort to generate discussion. Do not post the same text to multiple subs.
  • Pirated versions of decluttering books are not allowed here. Do not abuse the reporting system.

Before you post

  • Explain the room or category you are stuck on; photo context helps.
  • Selling tactics have a wiki elsewhere — the main feed is not a marketplace coach by rule.
  • No surveys or app/book promo pitches.
