Where can I ask for camera or lens buying advice?

Photography question and camera-gear communities for buying and setup advice — separate from critique rooms that only want finished photos.

Gear questions belong in rooms built for questions and comparisons, not in critique galleries. Expect to share budget, subjects and whether you need stills, video or both.

Before you post

  • State budget, body you already own, subjects such as portraits, wildlife or video, and whether weight matters.
