Where can I ask why something is suddenly everywhere online?

A community for catching up on a current event, meme or controversy — with a title format and a required link.

When a name, meme or argument keeps appearing and you missed the start, r/OutOfTheLoop is the usual place to ask for an explanation. Its rules are strict about format: an unbiased current question in the title and a link or screenshot in the body showing what you saw.
