Where can I get something translated for free?

A volunteer translation community, and the requests it won’t take.

r/translator is a volunteer community for translation requests in most languages. It runs on title formatting and bot commands, so follow its format.

Where to ask

r/translator

Best for: Short texts, signs, labels, tattoos and handwriting.

Why it fits: Its public description: “r/translator is *the* community for Reddit translation requests. Need something translated? Post here!”

Rules to know before posting:

  • Format the title with the languages (see its guidelines).
  • No homework help without your own work.
  • No unreasonable requests: volunteers translate, so keep length reasonable.
  • No machine or joke translations as answers; no unethically sourced material such as private screenshots.

Read r/translator’s current rules on Reddit

Before you post

  • Crop to the text and say where it came from.
  • Name the source language if you know it, and the target language.
  • For legal or official documents, use a certified translator.

Rule summaries are paraphrased from each community’s published rules (public archive copy retrieved 7 November 2026; original snapshot date unavailable). Current rules may differ — check the community’s rules before posting. A good fit does not guarantee a reply.
