Where can I ask an aquarium or fish-tank question?

A large aquariums community for tank setup, livestock and care questions — peer discussion with basic civility and NSFW tagging rules.

r/Aquariums welcomes aquarium photos, discussion and advice requests. Volunteers can help you think through stocking and water-care questions, but they are not a substitute for a fish veterinarian when animals are sick.

Where to ask

r/Aquariums

Best for: Tank setup, stocking, equipment and general fish-keeping advice questions.

Why it fits: Its public description: “The subreddit for anything related to aquariums! Come here to enjoy pictures, videos, articles and discussion. We're also here to help you if you need advice.”

Rules to know before posting:

  • Attacks, derailing and trolling are not tolerated.
  • Dead or dying animals, severe wounds and live feeding must be tagged NSFW.

Before you post

  • Include tank size, water parameters you have measured, and how long the tank has been running.
  • Clear photos of the fish and the full tank help more than a one-line “what’s wrong with my fish?” title.
  • Urgent livestock illness still needs a qualified aquatic vet when one is available locally.
