Alternatives to r/Shopping

Sharing cool things to buy and shopping deals · Status when checked: Private (2026-11-07)

r/Shopping is private. When we checked on 7 November 2026, Reddit showed that only approved members can view it. The public description still said it was for sharing cool things and deals you can purchase. We know of no official successor. The open communities below still cover deals, durable product picks and must-buy finds — with different scopes and anti-spam rules. Read each community's rules before posting.

Communities to try instead

r/deals

Good for: Broad retailer deal feed with price-in-title posts — closest open match for shopping-deal browsing.

Access: open

Rules to know: Direct link to the offer; sale price in the title; no prohibited items, dropshipping or Shopify self-promo. Referral signup links belong in the monthly megathread. Tag the region when a deal is not worldwide.

Looks similar, but not a fit

  • r/ShoppingDealsOnline — Also closed (banned for being unmoderated) — see its own SubMouse alternatives page. (checked 2026-11-07)
  • r/ImpulseBuys — Also closed (banned for being unmoderated) — covered on its own SubMouse alternatives page. (checked 2026-11-07)

Private is not the same as banned: approved members may still see archives, but casual visitors cannot. None of these boards is an official replacement for r/Shopping, and deal posts are still removed when they look like spam or dropshipping. Statuses come from the live community page on the check date; Reddit can lift or change a ban at any time. Updated 2026-11-07.
