r/askacarsalesman is restricted. When we checked on 7 November 2026, Reddit showed that anyone can view the community, but only approved users can contribute. Older threads about dealer tactics, deposits, financing offers and life on the sales floor can still be read. We know of no official successor. If you need answers now, the open communities below cover the same ground with different rules: one for questions answered by people who work in the car business, one for choosing which car to buy, and one for the loan and budget side of a purchase. Read each community's rules before posting.

None of these communities is an official successor to r/askacarsalesman, and advice from strangers, including people who work in car sales, is not a substitute for reading your contract. Before you sign, check the buyer's order and finance paperwork line by line against the price you agreed. Statuses come from the live community page on the check date; Reddit can lift or change a ban at any time. Updated 2026-11-07.
