Alternatives to r/DiscountCodeShare

Sharing retail discount codes and promo codes · Status when checked: Banned (2026-11-07)

r/DiscountCodeShare is banned. When we checked on 7 November 2026, Reddit showed that the subreddit was banned due to being used for spam (takeover requests go through r/redditrequest). It had been used to share retail promo and discount codes. We know of no official successor. The communities below still cover coupons, freebies or thrift discussion — with stricter anti-spam rules. Read each community’s rules before posting.

Communities to try instead

r/coupons

Good for: Coupon and promo-code sharing for retail offers, with flair for expired posts.

Access: open

Rules to know: Report expired posts so they can be flaired. No contests (use r/contest). No referral links or codes (use r/Referrals). Post coupons, not obscure website promo dumps. Do not sell coupons — codes should be free to use.

r/freebies

Good for: Truly free offers and samples rather than paid discount codes — useful when the goal is a freebie, not a percentage off.

Access: open

Rules to know: Must be 100% free (shipping charges generally not allowed). Direct links preferred. Offers should be available to at least ~100 people. Avoid sketchy freebies and frequent reposts.

r/Frugal (profile on SubMouse)

Good for: Broader saving-money discussion, seasonal stock-ups and thrift habits when you want advice beyond a single code.

Access: open

Rules to know: Community norms favour practical frugality over affiliate dumps. Check current rules and megathreads before posting a deal or code.

Looks similar, but not a fit

  • r/hotdeals — Appears largely inactive (years-old front-page posts when checked) — not a reliable place to share current codes. (checked 2026-11-07)
  • r/dealsOffersFreebies — India-focused deals community that is itself banned for being unmoderated — see its own alternatives page. (checked 2026-11-07)

Promo codes expire quickly and some posts attract spam. Referral and affiliate links are banned in several coupon communities. None of these is an official replacement for r/DiscountCodeShare, and a post may still be removed or get no replies. Statuses come from the live community page on the check date; Reddit can lift or change a ban at any time. Updated 2026-11-07.
