Reddit gifting, wishlists and buying presents for strangers · Status when checked: Private (2026-11-07)

r/Wishlist is private. When we checked on 7 November 2026, Reddit showed that only approved members can view it. The public farewell described a veteran Reddit-gifting community that bought presents for strangers and then said goodbye. We know of no official successor. The open communities below still run gifting, offers and seasonal help — with stricter anti-begging and registration rules. Read each community’s rules before posting.

Looks similar, but not a fit

  • r/borrow — Open loan community — different purpose from gift wishlists, and Assistance explicitly points loan seekers there instead. (checked 2026-11-07)

Private with a goodbye message usually means the old culture is gone for casual visitors even if archives remain for approved members. Gifting communities enforce anti-scam rules aggressively — expect karma, age and registration gates, and never share payment handles publicly. Statuses come from the live community page on the check date; Reddit can lift or change a ban at any time. Updated 2026-11-07.
