Explain this current loop vs ask any question

r/OutOfTheLoop helps people catch up on what everyone is talking about on Reddit and elsewhere. r/NoStupidQuestions invites any straightforward ask, with a disclaimer that anonymous answers may be wrong.

Both have SubMouse pages (OutOfTheLoop about 3.7M, rank #264; NoStupidQuestions about 7.6M, rank #102). Samples are text-only; NoStupidQuestions is far busier (roughly 1172 vs 10 posts/day).

Collected titles define “a loop.” OutOfTheLoop requires a current unbiased question title, context in the body, search for recent dupes, human top-level answers, and removes posts better suited elsewhere. NoStupidQuestions requires genuine top-level answer attempts, search-first, and bans medical-advice and joke questions. Ask “what is this meme/news thing?” in OutOfTheLoop; ask a timeless how/why in NoStupidQuestions. (AskReddit remains the open-ended discussion neighbour.)

  • r/OutOfTheLoop: current loops; title + context; no AI answers.
  • r/NoStupidQuestions: any sincere factual ask; genuine top-level answers.
  • Current event vs evergreen curiosity. Both have full SubMouse community pages.
