General gaming feed vs PC gaming news desk

r/gaming calls itself the number one gaming forum. r/pcgaming calls itself Reddit’s #1 source for PC gaming news and discussion.

Both have SubMouse pages (gaming about 47.4M, rank #5; pcgaming about 4.0M, rank #235) and list each other as related. Samples mix text, links and images; pcgaming is slightly busier in our window (roughly 93 vs 63 posts per day).

Collected titles separate the lanes. gaming requires posts to be directly gaming-related, puts discussion prompts in text posts, and bans giveaways, sales, piracy and non-original sources. pcgaming bans memes and PCMR language, tech support and game-help questions, buying/building questions, game suggestion requests, and Let’s Plays/streams/montages. Share platform-agnostic gaming content in gaming; bring PC news and substantive PC discussion to pcgaming—and hardware build questions to buildapc.

Where this comparison comes from

Public descriptions, member counts and related links from SubMouse’s safe-for-work directory. Short rule titles and activity samples collected for both. Short titles only.

Members and public descriptions come from SubMouse's safe-for-work directory (as of 2026-11-02 UTC); 7-day growth measured from 2026-10-26. Posts/day and post-type mixes appear when we have an activity sample. Rule lines are short titles, not the full sidebar. Directory rank is listing order — communities outside the current Top 100 open in the info tool instead of a full community page.
