Curated art showcase vs open drawing practice

r/Art frames itself as serious discussion of art and artists. r/drawing describes drawing as mark-making and welcomes technique, gear and artwork—more like a shared refrigerator door than a gallery.

In our directory Art is larger (about 22.6M, rank #29) than drawing (about 5.8M, rank #143). Activity samples are both high (~154 vs ~111 posts/day). Art’s submission type in our sample is link-only; drawing allows text or links.

Rules diverge sharply: Art bans sketches/doodles, fanart/comics/requests, memes, AI art/NFTs and requires specific title formatting with direct image/video links. drawing requires effort and credit, bans NSFW drawings and “is this good for my age” posts, and limits to one post per day.

Post finished, well-presented work to r/Art only if you meet its title and content rules—sketches belong elsewhere.
Use r/drawing for practice pieces, technique talk and constructive critique norms.
drawing sits outside the live Top 100 cut on SubMouse (info tool); Art has a full /r/ page.

Directory descriptions/members plus collected short rule titles and activity samples. Short titles only.

Posts/day and post-type mixes appear when we have an activity sample. Rule lines are short titles, not the full sidebar. Directory rank is listing order — communities outside the current Top 100 open in the info tool instead of a full community page.
