Best Esports Subreddits (November 2026)

Looking for the right esports community on Reddit? Here is the lay of the land. We checked the communities Reddit returns for “esports” and “competitive gaming”, kept the public, safe-for-work ones with at least 25,000 members that are still posting, and ranked the 6 that remain by size. Together they have 1.1M members.

How the esports communities compare

A few giants dominate — r/RocketLeagueEsports, r/esports and r/CoDCompetitive together account for 82% of the combined membership. Size and activity don't line up perfectly: r/RocketLeagueEsports has the most members, but r/CoDCompetitive gets the most new posts (about 38 a day, against 19 in r/RocketLeagueEsports). Per member, the liveliest is r/lolesports: 22 posts a day from 32.6K members — a smaller crowd, but an engaged one. The oldest is r/esports, founded in 2009, and every community here is more than five years old — this is a long-established corner of Reddit.

r/CoDCompetitive moves fastest, with about 38 new posts a day, so posts there get replies quickly but also slide off the front page within hours.

A simple rule of thumb: ask questions in the specialised communities and share your best finds in the big ones, where they can reach the most people. Always read the rules in the sidebar first — each community is run by its own volunteer moderators. Our guide to searching Reddit explains how to dig through any of these communities, and the subreddit info tool gives you the stats of one we don't list.
