Choosing where to post
If you have a question, start in r/MinecraftHelp: it is set up for exactly that, and with about 27 new posts a day there are plenty of people around to answer. Asking the same thing in r/Minecraft often gets it removed or lost among the 438 daily posts. Competition for attention differs a lot: r/Minecrafthmmm has 143.3K members but only about 2.7 new posts a day — roughly one new post for every 53.1K members — while r/Minecraft gets about 438 a day, one for every 20K. A strong, well-made post therefore has more room to be seen in r/Minecrafthmmm; r/Minecraft is better when you want quick replies. Jokes and memes have their own home in r/MinecraftMemes; the serious communities tend to remove them, so keep the two apart. There are regional communities too — r/minecraftespanol and r/minecraftbrasil — which are the better choice for local prices, shops, events or rules.
Before posting, sort a subreddit by “Top” for the past month: it shows in a minute what that community rewards. Always read the rules in the sidebar first — each community is run by its own volunteer moderators. Our guide to searching Reddit explains how to dig through any of these communities, and the subreddit info tool gives you the stats of one we don't list.
