Mildly notable OC photos vs high-intensity interesting posts

r/mildlyinteresting’s public description sticks to the name: stuff that is only mildly interesting. Its collected rule titles push original photographs only, with exact concise titles and bans on memes, screenshots, x-posts and reposts. r/interestingasfuck’s description asks for anything truly interesting as fuck, and its first rule title repeats that bar.

In our directory, mildlyinteresting is larger (about 25.4M members, rank #22) than interestingasfuck (about 16.9M, rank #54). Activity samples show both as busy feeds (~154 vs ~140 posts/day). Our mildlyinteresting sample was almost entirely images; interestingasfuck mixed video, images, galleries and some links.

Our directory lists interestingasfuck among related communities for mildlyinteresting. Post a small OC photo find to mildlyinteresting; save higher-intensity or video-heavy “whoa” content for interestingasfuck when that is what you mean.

  • Choose r/mildlyinteresting for original, understated photo finds with exact titles.
  • Choose r/interestingasfuck when the content is meant to clear a high “interesting” bar—often video-heavy in our sample.
  • Related-directory links are not a quality ranking.

Where this comparison comes from

Public titles, descriptions and member counts from SubMouse’s SFW directory (see page date). Short rule titles and posting-activity samples SubMouse collected for both. Directory related-link mildlyinteresting → interestingasfuck. Rule lines are short titles only.

Members and public descriptions come from SubMouse's safe-for-work directory (as of 2026-11-02 UTC); 7-day growth measured from 2026-10-26. Posts/day and post-type mixes appear when we have an activity sample. Rule lines are short titles, not the full sidebar. Directory rank is listing order — communities outside the current Top 100 open in the info tool instead of a full community page.
