Best Collecting Subreddits (November 2026)

If you're into collecting, Reddit has more than one home for you. We checked the communities Reddit returns for “collecting” and “collectibles”, kept the public, safe-for-work ones with at least 25,000 members that are still posting, and ranked the 9 that remain by size. Together they have 1.4M members.

How the collecting communities compare

No single community dominates: the three largest hold only 59% of the combined membership, so it pays to join a few of the specialised ones. Size and activity don't line up perfectly: r/gamecollecting has the most members, but r/sportscards gets the most new posts (about 82 a day, against 39 in r/gamecollecting). The oldest is r/coins, founded in 2008, and every community here is more than five years old — this is a long-established corner of Reddit.

Choosing where to post

For beginner questions, r/coincollecting is the natural first stop — it exists for advice, and roughly 68 new threads a day keep it moving. Competition for attention differs a lot: r/starwarscollecting has 114.1K members but only about 7.9 new posts a day — roughly one new post for every 14.4K members — while r/sportscards gets about 82 a day, one for every 761. A strong, well-made post therefore has more room to be seen in r/starwarscollecting; r/sportscards is better when you want quick replies.

Big subreddits give a post the widest audience, but they also bury it quickly; the mid-sized communities on this list are usually friendlier for questions and first posts. Always read the rules in the sidebar first — each community is run by its own volunteer moderators. Our guide to searching Reddit explains how to dig through any of these communities, and the subreddit info tool gives you the stats of one we don't list.
