Best Careers Subreddits (November 2026)

If you're into careers, Reddit has more than one home for you. We checked the communities Reddit returns for “careers” and “jobs”, kept the public, safe-for-work ones with at least 25,000 members that are still posting, and ranked the 19 that remain by size. Together they have 15.1M members.

How the careers communities compare

The three largest communities hold about 68% of the combined membership, but the rest of the list is far from empty — that is where most of the specialised discussion happens. r/careerguidance and r/careeradvice are the two busiest, with roughly 179 and 189 new posts a day. Per member, the liveliest is r/Careers: 31 posts a day from 31.4K members — a smaller crowd, but an engaged one. Among the communities we track weekly, r/jobs grew fastest recently (+0.18%, +5.2K members since Oct 26). The oldest is r/jobs, founded in 2008, and only one community here is younger than five years: r/ItaliaCareerAdvice (2021).

Choosing where to post

Questions do best in r/careeradvice, the community on this list that is built around advice and help (around 189 posts a day). Competition for attention differs a lot: r/FinancialCareers has 1.8M members but only about 28 new posts a day — roughly one new post for every 63.9K members — while r/careeradvice gets about 189 a day, one for every 3.4K. A strong, well-made post therefore has more room to be seen in r/FinancialCareers; r/careeradvice is better when you want quick replies. There are regional communities too — r/phcareers, r/Indian_Academia and r/IndiaCareers — which are the better choice for local prices, shops, events or rules. Rule sets vary: of the communities we have rules for, r/cscareerquestions lists 11, against 4 in r/FinancialCareers, so a post that is fine in one can be removed in another.

Before posting, sort a subreddit by “Top” for the past month: it shows in a minute what that community rewards. Always read the rules in the sidebar first — each community is run by its own volunteer moderators. Our guide to searching Reddit explains how to dig through any of these communities, and the subreddit info tool gives you the stats of one we don't list.
