Alternatives to r/news

A short, curated guide — not an automatic related dump. Figures come from SubMouse's safe-for-work directory when we have them.

r/news (about 31.6M members, directory rank #14) covers current events in the United States and the rest of the world. When you want non-US world coverage only, deliberately uplifting stories, or true stories that sound satirical, narrower rooms fit better.

How to choose

Stay on news for broad US-and-world current events. Use worldnews when US-internal news should stay out, UpliftingNews for positive stories, and nottheonion when the point is a true story that reads like satire.
