Bookmark threads for later, then group communities into one topic feed.

Saves vs custom feeds
Two Reddit account features solve different “keep this” problems. Save bookmarks a specific post or comment. A custom feed (multireddit on old Reddit) merges several communities into one stream you can open later.
Choose Save when the unit of value is one thread. Choose a custom feed when the unit of value is a topic lane you want to skim over time. This guide is a practical how-to for those controls — not a history or culture essay, and not a replacement for choosing where to post.
Save a post or comment
Reddit Help documents saving from the overflow menu on the item.
On reddit.com
- Open the overflow menu on the post.
- Choose Save.
On iOS and Android
- Tap the overflow menu on the post (top right; icon style can differ by app).
- Tap Save.
Comment drafts auto-saved while you type are a separate composer feature. Do not confuse unfinished drafts with your Saved library.
Open your Saved list
On reddit.com
- Go to your profile.
- Open the Saved tab.
On iOS and Android
- Open your profile via the avatar.
- Open the menu (three lines) near the top right.
- Select Saved.
Saved is a personal list. If a post is later removed or deleted, a bookmark may remain while the content is gone — do not treat Saved as an archive backup.
Create a custom feed
Custom feeds group communities so their posts appear in one place. Help notes feeds can stay private or be made public to share.
On reddit.com
- Open a community you want to include.
- In Community Details, open the overflow menu.
- Choose Add To Custom Feed, then Create A Custom Feed.
- Name the feed and create it.
- Select that feed and update/add the community.
On iOS and Android
- Open the navigation menu from the upper left of home.
- Select Custom Feeds.
- Create and name a feed.
- Search for communities and add them.
On old.reddit.com
- Open the thin gray bar on the left of home.
- Under multireddits, choose create.
- Name the feed, then search and add communities.
Help documents finding feeds under Custom Feeds in the top-left navigation menu.
Hypothetical research stack
Hypothetical example (not a firsthand test or a quote from a real account): you are comparing outdoor communities before a trip. You create a private feed named “Trail talk,” skim recent posts there for recurring themes, and Save only the packing or gear threads you would reopen later.
- Feed = ongoing reading lane
- Saved = decision bookmarks
- Search operators = finding older threads worth saving (see the search guide)
Checklist
- I can open Saved on the device I actually use (profile tab on web vs profile menu on apps).
- My custom feed name describes a topic, not a vague label.
- I only added communities I still want if recommendations go quiet.
- Important threads are Saved (or copied elsewhere) rather than trusted to memory.
- I am not treating Saved as a backup of removed content.
