Best Paranormal Subreddits (November 2026)

Looking for the right paranormal community on Reddit? Here is the lay of the land. We checked the communities Reddit returns for “paranormal” and “ghosts”, kept the public, safe-for-work ones with at least 25,000 members that are still posting, and ranked the 10 that remain by size. Together they have 12.9M members.

How the paranormal communities compare

A few giants dominate — r/UnresolvedMysteries, r/UFOs and r/Paranormal together account for 85% of the combined membership. Size and activity don't line up perfectly: r/UnresolvedMysteries has the most members, but r/ParanormalEncounters gets the most new posts (about 47 a day, against 10 in r/UnresolvedMysteries). Per member, the liveliest is r/OrdemParanormalRPG: 19 posts a day from 82.3K members — a smaller crowd, but an engaged one. Among the communities we track weekly, r/Paranormal grew fastest recently (+0.15%, +3.4K members since Oct 26). The oldest is r/UFOs, founded in 2008, and every community here is more than five years old — this is a long-established corner of Reddit.

Choosing where to post

Competition for attention differs a lot: r/UnresolvedMysteries has 4.5M members but only about 9.6 new posts a day — roughly one new post for every 469.3K members — while r/ParanormalEncounters gets about 47 a day, one for every 8.5K. A strong, well-made post therefore has more room to be seen in r/UnresolvedMysteries; r/ParanormalEncounters is better when you want quick replies.

Before posting, sort a subreddit by “Top” for the past month: it shows in a minute what that community rewards. Always read the rules in the sidebar first — each community is run by its own volunteer moderators. Our guide to searching Reddit explains how to dig through any of these communities, and the subreddit info tool gives you the stats of one we don't list.
