About r/AITAH

In its own words:

This is a community like r/AmITheAsshole, except unlike that subreddit, you can post interpersonal conflicts. Anything that's AITA, including relationships, hypotheticals, and would I be the asshole (wibta) posts are allowed. AI scenarios/posts are not welcome or tolerated. An elaboration on our rules can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AITAH/wiki/index

Community guide

r/AITAH is a judgment forum for interpersonal conflicts in the “Am I the asshole?” tradition, with a wider door than its older cousin: relationship conflicts, hypotheticals, and “would I be the asshole” framing are allowed here according to the community’s own description. It is #104 in our SFW Top 1000 (about 7.6 million subscribers). The description also states AI scenarios are not welcome—important if you are used to synthetic prompt dumps elsewhere.

What you post

Narrative conflict posts seeking a verdict. Collected rules emphasise no third-party posting, limits on demeaning language, and a distinction between fake and hypothetical posts—moderators are policing authenticity and tone, not hosting pile-ons for their own sake.

Versus r/AmItheAsshole and advice subs

The community explicitly positions itself as similar to r/AmItheAsshole but more permissive on interpersonal and hypothetical material. Relationship-advice communities aim to counsel; AITAH threads aim to classify behaviour. If you want actionable communication tips, advice-oriented subs are clearer; if you want a verdict format, this matches that genre.

Practical pointers

Write as a party to the conflict (no third-party posts). Avoid demeaning name-piles. Activity samples are almost entirely text, at hundreds of posts per day—expect fast scroll-off.

SubMouse Editorial

The community was created on Mar 17, 2021, which makes it 5 years old. Since Oct 26, 2026, it has gained 6,052 subscribers (+0.08%). It sits just behind r/itookapicture (#103) and ahead of r/place (#105) in our ranking.

What sets r/AITAH apart

r/AITAH is far more text-driven than most big subreddits: 100% of its recent posts are text posts, against a median of 34% across the Top 100. Posts here spark a lot of conversation: the archive averages 53.7 comments per post, roughly 3.8× the typical big subreddit (14.0). For its size it is unusually busy: about 34.1 new posts a day per million members, more than 89% of the Top 100.
